A final utility bill after moving out should usually match the account, address, service end date, final meter read or documented estimate, unpaid prior balance, approved taxes or fees, and any deposit or credit applied by that utility. It should not casually include days after service ended, a duplicate balance you already paid, a mystery fee with no bill line, another address, or a landlord/roommate charge presented as a universal rule. Check the stop-service confirmation, move-out records, final read, prior bill, payment proof, deposit/credit line, and forwarding address before paying or disputing.
